Volleyball - Wednesday April 8

Bonjour!

1.  FITNESS FREE WEDNESDAY (well... no plyos or agility) but .... how about you go for a 20-30 min jog ... think of it as an extended warm-up (you can double dip and use this for PE too, if you're in PE)

2.  BALL CONTROL DRILLS

Watch this quick video.  I'm not going to ask you to do all the drills, but a multitude of them.  Hopefully by watching the video, my explanations will make more sense.  Some of these are quite difficult ... but hey .... challenges are good!

Dedicated to all of you who often forearm pass the ball when you SHOULD be setting it. 😘




Drills:

1.  Finger push-ups (regular or alternate)10 reps x 3 OR finger planks for 30 seconds x 3
2.  Wall push-offs 10 reps x 3
3.  From a one-knee position, set to ground x100
4.  Set to wall while seated on ground x100
5.  Lie on stomach, head facing wall,  set to wall 20x (OK - I tried this.... I could barely get my upper body off the ground.... it was pathetic.  I hope you have more success than I did)
6.  Lie on back, feet towards wall, legs lift up alternately while you hand moves between your lifted leg and the wall to set against wall - it's pretty tough - you might want to start with throwing and catching until you can get the hang of it ... then try setting. Try for 100 touches.
7.  Set against wall continuous, from standing to kneeling, back to standing, kneeling, etc. 100x
8.  While standing, continuously set against the wall while turning a 360. 10x (10 circles - alternate the direction you turn... so you don't get dizzy)
8.  Right hand set to wall x100
9.  Left hand set to wall x 100
10.  (Not on video) Pass against wall, set against wall,  tip against wall, repeat continuously - 50x (50 tips).
